UFC 300 has arrived! The community seems to be split on how sick this card is and I am on team it’s sick. Cody Garbrant and Deveison Figueiredo are starting the whole God damn event for Christ’s sake. There isn’t a single lackluster fight on the whole damn card. The complaint I am seeing is that the Main Event is underwhelming, get fucking bent, we are finally going to have a true Light Heavyweight Champion when all is said and done. Before that we get to see Weili defend her belt against a dangerous Yan Xiaonan. The BMF fight between Geaethje and Holloway is awesome (whether it should be happening or not), Charlie Olives gets to take Arman Tsarukyan to school, and the only misplaced fight of Bo Nickal vs Cody Brundage which will likely be absolute domination. I can not wait for this card to start, let’s get into these picks.
Main Card
Alex Pereira vs. Jamahal Hill Light Heavyweight Championship Bout
This fight has the makings for a classic. Pereira in such a short amount of time has cemented himself as one of the hardest hitting fighters in UFC history. He has slept 3 different champions at this point, and if all goes according to plan, he will be adding a 4th. Jamahal Hill hasn’t fought in over a year since his injury and his path to the belt left a bit to be desired. He took out an ok at best Jimmy Crute, often finished firecracker in Johnny Walker, over the hill Thiago Santos, and a 100 year old Glover Teixiera. I like his confidence and he has made the build up fun, but if this can stay on the feet for any period of time I see a devastating finish by Poatan.
Alex Pereira by 2nd Round TKO -125 1 unit
Zhang Weili vs. Yan Xiaonan Strawweight Championship Bout
Can’t say I have spent too much time on this one. Well at least not on who I think will win. Weili is an absolutely different class of fighter than Yan. She might be one of the greatest strawweights ever if she is able to hold the belt for a bit longer. Yan Xiaonan got a title fight because of a decent winning streak and the dollar signs behind a chinese title fight. Weili should be able to do whatever she wants for as long as she wants. Yan is pretty tough but I think Weili finds a way to knock her out.
Zhang Weilli by 4th Round TKO (Prop Finish Line) -125 1 unit
Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway Lightweight BMF Bout
This fight is just cruel for all fight fans. 2 of the biggest fan favorites (if you aren’t one of the weird Khabib people that only like Dagi fighters) in the entire promotion are facing off for a meaningless belt when both are arguably due for title shots. One of these gentlemen will be getting a title shot after this and the other will continue to keep taking out top prospects. After a lot of soul searching I have made my decision. Justin Gaethje will be winning this fight. His leg kicks are just going to be way too devastating. Look at what Volk was able to do to Holloway at 145, there is just no way Max can eat them from Gaethje. I am going to be sick to my stomach and due hope it makes it to decision but I am in doubt.
Justin Gaethje by 3rd Round TKO -148 2 units
Charles Oliveira vs. Arman Tsarukyan Lightweight bout
Arman Tasarukyan may be our only hope for Islam to relinquish the belt. He by far and away gave him the closest fight (outside of when Islam got starched), and his wrestling may actually rival Islam’s. I think I speak for most MMA fans in saying that we would all like to see Islam get knocked down a peg. Too fucking bad he is up against Charlie Olives! Charles may not be able to beat Islam but he is going to destroy Arman. Don’t pay too much attention to the dominant first round Arman is going to have because once round 2 starts Charlie is gonna drop him and take his back then put him to sleep. I am already a bit stiff thinking about it.
Charles Oliveira by 2nd Round Submission +185 1 unit
Bo Nickal vs. Cody Brundage Middleweight Bout
This is stupid but I am a Bo NIckal fan. It’ll be fun when he takes his step up in competition, but making us watch him beat up another unranked dude on a PPV is a bit much. I have no idea how to even bet on this fight without just taking a flier on Brundage. Maybe I’ll find something to put in a parlay but for now this fight is a bit untouchable.
Bo Nickal by however he wants (there is no value anywhere)

DraftKings Lineup:
Can’t wait for this card to start. I think I said that earlier in the blog but I am shaking with excitement. Some of the cards this year have been starless and I think I now see why. Any of these fights sprinkled in the last few cards would’ve made all of them better, but Dana had bigger plans. He held these nuggets together to give us the most well rounded card in history. Remember to bet responsibly and stick to your units. Have a great fight night and as always, may luck be your lady tonight!
