I don’t know many people on this card, so it was hard to find much on the fighters backgrounds and who their past opponents are. Here are my picks for UFC Shenzhen.
MAIN CARD
Jessica Andrade v. Weili Zhang
This is a solid matchup that should be an entertaining fight. I didn’t think Weili Zhang deserved the title shot. That being said, she shouldn’t be taken lightly in this fight. Zhang pushes forward and is an active striker. Rose showed Andrade had holes in her standup game. But Jessica Andrade is the Champion for a reason, she was able to survive Rose’s shots and find an opening to slam Rose on her head. Zhang will be looking to keep Andrade at a distance with jabs and pick her apart. The fight taking place in China, with Zhang having a chance to become the first Chinese born champion, makes me think Andrade needs to get a finish to retain her title. I think this will be a very entertaining fight.
Jessica Andrade by 3rd round TKO
Li Jingliang v. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos
This is a matchup of a couple of guys at the same spot in their career. Outside the rankings, but a win here can put either one of them into the rankings. EZdS lost his UFC debut but has won 7 fights in a row since then. He is coming off a March win over Curtis Millender, his beest win yet. Jingliang is 8-3 in the UFC. Both guys haven’t faced top competition but are looking to crack the rankings of a stacked welterweight division. EZdS has an insane striking game that is almost impossible to time and predict. EZdS is also a blackbelt in BJJ. He is more well rounded than expected, especially with the nickname Capoeira. Jingliang is a wrestler that has fallen in love with his standup game.
Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos by 1st round TKO
Kai Kara-France v. Mark De La Rosa
Mark De La Rosa is a grappler and will be looking to take this fight to the ground. He thinks that is his path to victory. This makes sense since Kai Kara-France has the big advantage in the standup game. Kai Kara-France has good takedown defense and should be able to keep the fight on the feet.
